Welcome message for the “second EHNS workshop on Robotic Surgery and second congress of the IGR-EHNS (International Guilde of robotic and endoscopic head and neck surgery)”
C. Simon, W. Golusinski, R. Leemans
On behalf of the EHNS we would like to welcome you to the “second EHNS workshop on Robotic Surgery and second congress of the IGR-EHNS (International Guilde of robotic and endoscopic head and neck surgery)”.
Robotic and endoscopic head and neck surgery have remarkably evolved over the last years and have become more and more integrated into the daily work of the head and neck surgeon. Minimally invasive approaches to the pharynx, skull base, parapharyngeal space and the neck have been and will be exploited in order to improve functional and oncological outcome of our patients.
In order to bring to you the most cutting-edge developments in the field, EHNS joined forces with IGReHNS for this congress and we are proud to present to you a truly international program with renowned experts from all around the world.
On the first day we will address anatomy, treatment decision-making, and various applications of endoscopic and robotic surgery. Difficulties such as prevention of hemorrhage will be discussed, and various techniques compared, i.e. TLM, the FlexRobotic , and the da Vinci system .
On the second day two live surgeries will take you through the ins-and-outs of the procedures followed by lectures on currently ongoing trials.
On the last day a proffered abstract session with experts discussing accepted poster contributions followed by an in-depth discussion over “How-I-do-it-videos” will round up the program.
The evening event consists of a stroll over the famous Christmas market of Montreux followed by a typical Swiss dinner in a well-known local wine cellar.
We all look forward seeing you in Lausanne in the end of November.
